parents….do you do this?

You feel under the weather, sick, or just not yourself and you allow your inner thoughts to beat yourself up.

“Why do I have to be sick?”

“I don’t have time to be sick.”

“Why do I have to cancel my plans?”

“Why can’t I be better already?”

“I have too much to do and don’t have time to be sick.”

“Just push through, everyone else does.”

Not one ounce of self-love or compassion for yourself.  As moms, we barely rest, we continue to push ourselves.  We do all the things: laundry, dinner, disinfecting the house, and driving the children to activities.  The list goes on and on.

If your child was sick, what would you say to them?

I am sure it is kind and loving. One of the top things you probably say is to rest.

You care for them the best way we know how.

Practice changing the narrative in your mind.  Speak to yourself how you would speak to your child when they are sick.

Allow yourself to rest and recover with self-love and compassion.

  • Rest

  • Ask for support

  • Allow the house to get messy and the laundry to build-up

  • Take care of yourself in a loving compassionate way

The next time you are feeling under the weather, practice kindness and love to yourself.  What does this look like for you?

If you feel your negative self-talk gets the best of you most days and are ready to improve your relationship with yourself, reach out!  I would love to support you either with 1:1 support or in my group coaching program.  I would love to hear from you!
