life is short, make it sweet

This title is of a  song I have been singing in my head since I left a concert yesterday.

It was exactly what I needed to hear.  It rang so true to me……that life can be short (or long) so why not make it sweet.  For me, this is exactly what I did tonight when last minute I was offered tickets to a concert with dear friends.  I knew I needed more sweetness in my life right now since it’s been a bit sour lately.

Life can be hard at times.  The human experience is 50-50.  I like to think of it as 50% awesome and 50% not so awesome.  Life can be messy, complicated, devastating, painful, and every other negative emotion you want to insert here.

Life coaching has taught me that our thoughts create our emotions and we get to decide how long we want to keep feeling these emotions.    This was so powerful for me to discover.  We can choose to stay in the emotions for hours, days, weeks, even months and years.

What I want to offer you is that when life is crappy,  be in crappiness as long as you need but while in it remain open to what I call mini-miracles.

Life has been hard for me the last couple of weeks, and out of nowhere a friend texts and has a couple of last-minute concert tickets to a band I love!   Even though I had plans to lay in bed all evening, I knew if I made this choice to say “ Hell Ya”  I could for a time  allow myself to experience and access a different set of emotions even if it was for a short time.

Can I tell you that this mini-miracle of my best friend reaching out was exactly what I needed!

I danced, I sang, I laughed, I was fully present for over 2 hours.  I felt alive!

My heart and soul was filled up that evening and know that it will help carry me through what I call a rough patch.

Mini-miracles are happening all the time.  You just have to be present and remain open to receiving them. A text from a friend, a note from a co-worker, a person to cry with, the sun on your face, the birds chirping, the sound of the ocean, a strangers smile in a store, a phone call from a parent, a night out with friends, a nice meal, a sweet treat, cuddle time with your kids, a hug, and even a dogs head on your lap.

So when your emotions are hanging out in the not-so-awesome 50% of the human experience, always remember you have control over when you are ready to head over to the other 50%.  Just be open for the miracle and say Hell Yes when it comes your way.  I swear you will never be disappointed when you go all in and say YES.

Life can be hard at times and for me having a life coach supporting me through it all is the best self-care and self-love I do for myself.   I look forward to our calls because together we figure out the next best step in this wonderful game of life.  I have been learning to be patient, ride the wave, and know that there are learnings for growth and fulfillment in the obstacles of life.

They are there for us to feel the full range of emotions because as humans we are suppose to.

If you want to make life a little sweeter and want support and accountability to live a more fulfilled sweet life, let’s work 1:1 together.

I would be honored to be a part of your journey.
